Direct and credit sales of major works related with education, culture, art and leisure
EDP editores, created in the year 2000, is the result of merging the commercial networks of three of the main Spanish publishers: Espasa Calpe Grandes Obras, Difusora Internacional and Plaza & Janés Grandes Obras. It concentrates its business on direct and credit sales of encyclopaedic reference works, children’s works and collections of art and history under the labels of prestigious imprints such as Espasa, Planeta DeAgostini, Disney, Difusora Internacional, Unesco, National Geographic, Larousse and the European Council.
A highlight is its collection Joyas de Editor, books illustrated by important artists, luxury-bound and presented as numbered and limited editions, such as Don Quijote, La Autobiografía de Cellini and Los Ensayos de Montaigne (all with illustrations by Salvador Dalí), the collections of etchings by Goya (Tauromaquia and Caprichos), the work Chillida-San Juan de la Cruz, La Biblia de Rembrandt and La Celestina de Picasso. These titles, which have sold out and increased greatly in value, were co-published by the main foundations or museums holding the works of each artist concerned.
It has also published Chillida. Sobre lo que no sé, as a coedition with the Fundación Museo Chillida-Leku.
Since 1996, EDP editores has had a specific sales channel that manages matriculation in home-study training courses offered by prestigious universities and business schools.
