    Leaders in the Mexican market

Editorial Planeta México, with over 40 years in the market of this country (which has the largest number of Spanish-speakers in the world) is made up of several companies: Grupo Planeta División Librerías, Editorial Paidós Mexicana, Editorial Planeta Grandes Publicaciones and Planeta DeAgostini.

The bookstores division is one of the market’s leading publishing areas, thanks to its broad range of national and international authors, both classic and contemporary alike. The different imprints making up this area cover a large variety of thematic subjects, genres and formats. Forming part of this division are two major publishers of Mexican origin: Joaquín Mortiz, acquired by Grupo Planeta in 1985 and considered the label par excellence of contemporary Mexican literature; as well as the recently incorporated Editorial Diana, which has a long tradition and deep roots in the national market.

Its catalogue includes narrative and essay titles and books for children and young people, supplied by the great Mexican writers: Octavio Paz, Ángeles Mastretta, Paco Ignacio Taibo II, Laura Esquivel, Francisco Martín Moreno, Pedro Ángel Palou, Enrique Serna, Juan Villoro, Héctor Aguilar Camín and Eugenio Aguirre, among many others.
