Emecé Editores Argentina

Born in Argentina, featuring the most outstanding authors of the 20th century

Emecé Editores was founded in Buenos Aires in 1939 and became a part of Grupo Planeta in 2001. Since it was founded it has gradually configured a publishing backlist of the most diverse genres with the most outstanding authors of the 20th century, prominently including Jorge Luis Borges, Adolfo Bioy Casares, Albert Camus and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, with El principito, the title most sold by Emecé over the course of its extensive history.

The Emecé Argentina Prize, first held in 1954, is the oldest of the Argentinian fiction awards. Its winners have included Beatriz Guido, Dalmiro Sáenz, Griselda Gambaro, María Esther de Miguel, Angélica Gorodischer and Federico Jeanmaire.
