Seghers

Contemporary French and foreign poetry

Seghers, created in 1944 by the poet Pierre Seghers and acquired by Robert Laffont in 1960, has made poetry its preferred field.

Its oldest and most important collection is Poètes d’aujourd’hui, which is comprised of over 300 titles. From Paul Eluard to Andrée Chedid, Poésie d’abord is one of the main Seghers collections and was created with the mission of promoting the poets of the publishing imprint’s catalogue (Aragon, Eluard, Guillevic, Roger Bernard, as well as new authors). Poètes et chansons is devoted to the great names of French song (Brel, Brassens, Trenet, Renaud, etc.) but also to contemporary creation.
