Editora Planeta do Brasil

One of the ten main publishing houses in the Brazilian market

Editora Planeta do Brasil was born in 2003 and over the course of the years has gradually become consolidated as one of the main leaders in the country’s publishing market, with a solid and diverse catalogue of over 700 titles including fiction, non-fiction, self-help, children’s and young people’s books.

Its position is the result of its market-focused work, geared towards occupying a prominent position in bookstores and in the minds of readers. Its publishing lines, already well identified by the public, are distinguished by their loyalty to prestigious Brazilian authors and the tendencies of the international market.

Since its creation, Editora Planeta do Brasil has been committed to national authors, having published some of those appearing on the list of Brazilian bestsellers: Paulo Coelho, Laurentino Gomes, Augusto Cury, Mary del Priore, Padre Fábio de Melo and Gabriel Chalita. It also publishes international bestsellers, in some cases never previously available in Portuguese, such as Jodi Picoult and Juan Carlos Onetti.

Planeta do Brasil continues expanding its participation in the federal Government’s books purchasing programmes for state-run schools (PNBE).
