Fundación Atresmedia

Devoted to childhood and youth

The Atresmedia Foundation was founded in 2005 to channel the commitment of Atresmedia to society. It is a nonprofit, private, state-wide body with the objective of helping to provide children and adolescents with the necessary support for their wellbeing and education. It has the following three main lines of action:

Humanization of Children’s Hospitals. The objective is to develop measures aimed at informing children about the process they are undergoing and entertaining them and thereby contributing to making their stay in hospital as pleasant as possible and alleviating the concern that this situation may cause them. The foundation has been broadcasting Canal FAN3 since 2005. This is the only television channel specially designed for children in hospital and it is supplemented with different in-hospital animation activities, in which promoting reading, radio workshops and visits by famous personalities play a major role.

Normalization of Disability. The PRO Project, which is the first audiovisual school aimed at people with disabilities, provides specific training and facilitates integration of these people in the workplace in the audiovisual industry (radio, television, cinema, advertising, etc.). It also aims to raise awareness in society by increasing the visibility of disability via different communication campaigns.

Improving Education. Since 2013, the foundation has paid particular attention to education, as it recognizes it as one of the areas of most concern to society. With this aim, it promotes measures aimed at paying homage to teachers, reinforcing their knowledge and rewarding best practices in education. It also disseminates, promotes and highlights the value of vocational training and works to make education more accessible to society.

The Atresmedia Foundation also takes parts in forums on thought, action and debate that allow for open reflection, exchange of knowledge and experience, and cooperation between organizations.
